Football Made Simple

During my time as a Creative Consultant for Ceros, a New York-based tech company, I had the opportunity to collaborate with their sister business, MarkUp.io—a startup offering a feedback tool for website and video editing. My role was to "supercharge" their creative output and mentor their Creative Lead to help them reach their full potential.

One of the most rewarding aspects of working with MarkUp.io was its B2C focus, which allowed us to engage directly with the community through content and share our core values of teamwork and creativity, encapsulated by the tagline "Feedback Made Simple."

Tasked with conceiving an engaging campaign for our community, I collaborated with the Creative Lead to tie the project to the upcoming World Cup, leveraging America’s growing passion for football (or "soccer".) We came up with “Football Made Simple”; a guide to football for our American community. The campaign’s centrepiece was a custom-designed football kit, gifted to our most engaged community members and teammates. I created the entire kit, incorporating elements inspired by the brand’s identity, narrative, and background. From there, I managed its production and handled logistics for the company. You can find out more about it by watching the video below.

To amplify the campaign’s reach, I directed a photoshoot and video campaign. Working remotely, with team members primarily in the United States but based around the world, I enlisted a local photographer and videographer to bring the vision to life myself. I then collaborated with the Creative Lead to edit the video content, adding extra layers and polish. Additionally, I developed an animation for the video’s opening sequence, featuring the company’s logo kicking a football. The goal being to make the content fun and different from the usual tech posts.

This project was a resounding success, driving significant community engagement and showcasing the business’s creativity. Beyond the campaign’s external impact, it also provided an excellent opportunity to mentor the Creative Lead, helping them enhance their skills and build confidence in project management and execution.
